they offer a one year ticker refund, if u get a speeding ticket, they will pay for it, its a radar/scrambler detector......
These don't work! I saw a demonstration and the cop picked up the speed of the vehicle everytime. Rockymountainradar has been in all kinds of legal and financial trouble. They "try" to sell these in all kinds of discount and closeout flyers.

They have a rating of about 2.5 or 3 stars. Not good.

But if you must waste your money in such a device I would look into a passport or vector, they are both quality products.

I havn't gotten ANY tickets in 4 years, the last was in VA (A**wipe statewhere I couldn't use my detector. It should be standard equipment for a SS/WS6. Valentine 1 is waht I have and it is the best. My wife has my old Bell 9xx and she hasn't received a ticket either in many years. Neither of us ever do the speed limit.

Valentine and Passport are the best but very expensive. I think a mid-level Bel is the way to go. About $100 and it will save your butt more times than you think especially on the highway.

    True

V1 is a 1 year old, the Bell is 4 years old. The V1 gives much more time to respond to laser, the Bell almost none. Most of what we have in MD is X / K band, some laser.

i have an escort passport 8500 x50, its a great radar detector, that and the valentine are the best, the valentine is a big bigger and more exp but has direction arrows so u know where the radar is coming from. NO RADAR DETECTOR WILL DETECT LASER UNTIL YOUR CAUGHT. by the time it goes off they already ahve a reading, but with you can by upgrades to the radar/laser detectors that do adsorb the laser and prevent it from getting ur speed. its usually about 300-400 for the kit, goes on the front and rear of the car. DONT BUY THAT ROCKY MOUNTAIN GARBAGE. they dont scramble ne thing, cept maybe ur wallet. i dont know how well the actually radar detection works on em but for the money i'd stick with escort or valentine units.

I wouldn't waste your money. My brother, girlfriend, and roommate are all State Troopers. All they do is sit with the radar off and then "shoot" a car when it passes. Your detector will go off and before you can hit the brakes, they've got you nailed.

True, no radar detector will help you if you are the first car coming down the road and they hit you with 'instant on'

Only way you can avoid a ticket in this case is if there is a car(s) ahead of you that they hit with instant on and your detector picks it up so that you can slow in time before being hit.

I've been lucky enough to be in this scenario many times - knock on wood...

More and more cops are switching to laser. Sorry dudes, if you're hit with a laser, you're already busted...the detector is just an expensive advance ticket notification system. Any detector, imo, is a waste of money. Just keep your eyes peeled.

I agree with the Valantine 1, its a quality piece. However dont get a jammer/scrambler, Like it states above, its kinda hard to denie it to a cop when they shoot you and they get nothing, They will know you have it, and they will probably harass you to get it our search your car just to prove that your lieing to them, and then you have a bigger problem yet on your hands, now you have 2 tickets, you have been waiting on the side of the road for 45 min because he or she is just trying now to ruin your day, and the biggest problem yet.... Now they are just looking for you. Cops are freinds with other cops, they hang out together, they share thier stories on who the pulled over and why, and if they pull you over and catch you with it I can gaurentee you will be pulled over alot more often from there on out by many more cops for probably nothing at all but just to pull you over and waste your time. This all may not happen the first time you get caught with it but when you get caught twice by the same cop..... Here comes the whole bregade.
Anyways... Good luck at avoiding tickets, and hope to see you getting the Valentine 1

W ant a good evaluation of radar detctors? Type[search] car radar dectors. Then go to radar roys page. You will get the most complete picture of detectors. This guy was a cop for 20 yrs and instructs police departments on radar use.
