Question regarding my new trans am's option codes

Hello,

I'm new to the forums, my first post was over in the tranny section explaining an issue that is occurring with the car, and I received very useful information.

Now a far simpler question. I'm looking for the option codes that came with the car... I understand these are supposed to be on the door when you open it, but I do not see it anywhere.

I've heard you can give a VIN to a gm dealer and they can look up the options as well as any history of the vehicle.

The GM dealership near me is having tons of financial issues and they're barely open anymore. Is there any other way to get a VIS run perhaps online? Or would other dealers say fax it to me if I called them? I'm looking for a way to get my option codes as I believe the car was repainted and they painted over those codes.

Cutlass, you seem to be my hero lately. (Fyi, we took that tranny apart.. flywheel was shot and burnt, pressure plate was toast, and clutch was semi worn... they're checking out the hydraulics today. )

But I'm pretty sure this isn't a true WS6, but someone turned it into one with the 17" rims and ram air hood + airbox. (Ive heard there are scam ram air boxes that say ram air but arent, but it seems functional, I need to research more how to figure that out.)

Well unfortunately the option list didn't come up. It does have a long warranty claim history though.

Oh well. Thanks for trying Cutlass. I recently learned about the compnine database too and it did not come up as a WS6 there, just y82, so I'm believing this is not a true WS6, but if you couldnt pull the option list maybe theres a chance that compnine's is wrong?

Either way... I totally appreciate the lookup. You win the "my hero of the week" hat.

Wow that really is a lot of work. I still have my (now worn out) OE front brake pads! And all that drive line work your car has had, bezerker!

Let's see, I can remember some warranty work on my car, the radio display lost some stuff, power antenna, and that's it. I do only get ~25k on 4 new tires, tho.

saddest part is i'm curious what was done after 2004... In 2010 (aka this week) I'm basically having every part of the tranny cept the tranny itself redone. (Clutch, slave cyl, pilot bearing, throwout bearing, flywheel, pressure plate)... haha.
