    Question about the LS1

Can you put LS6 heads on a LS1? There is some guy here in town that swears up and down that he has this done. I don't know if its possible or not that is why I am posting this.

the casting number on the Ls6 head is "243" it will be raised on the front corner of the passengerside head (rear corner of the driverside).

yup bolts up the same, but flows better, has bigger, lighter valves than the Ls1 head

Ls6/1 valves are the same 2.00/1.55 size. The LS6 Vettes are the only cars that received the hollow stem valves. The LS1 GTO's did not. The 799 castings on the LS2's are the exact same casting....

As well a nicely ported LS1 head will EASILY outflow a stock LS6 head. Something to think about. You could always uprgrade your stock valvetrain with better Valves, springs and retainers..........all depends on cost differences.
