Question about gears

Ive been considering changing the gears in my car, its an M6. Obviously 4:10s will help you get going quicker from a dig. My question though is will gears help your highway power any, or is there little difference. Im not a big quarter mile racer, i like having power in my car from a roll.

Well, I can tell you this...rolling down the highway at 65mph in 6th, and then dropping it into 4th...you will feel the difference!!!

i dont have my 4:10s yet but yeah, it should still help you pull harder and from a 75 punch instead of going to 3rd like normal you gotta go to 4th

Ya im not a big fan of short gearing but if it helpls in every aspect i would do it. The main thing i disliked about my last car, an Audi S4, was the short gears. It would only hit 35 in first gear, 4:10s in an 6 speed camaro equals 42 in first gear, I could live with that.

One of the Best mods you can do in these cars. I have 4.30's and absolutely love them. Really fun tooling around town and your gas milage might go down by 2 or 3 mpg if that.
