    Problem with p0133 again!

I replaced the o2 sensor hoping to fix the problem said it was a slow response, so I figured that was it. Apparently not!! I do have an exhaust leak close to that sensor maybe that is the problem dont no why though? Thanks for your help!

Yes, any sort of exhaust leak near there is likely the problem.

I grew up on a farm where we used bailing wire to fix things (temporarily) and there is some merit to this concept.

Can you temporarily plug the exhaust leak with some muffler tape to see if you can get rid of the code?

Alternately you won't have to spend much more just to get the problem repaired at a common muffler shop.

It leaks were the exhaust manifold and cat on the drivers side connect. I think the manifold is warped a little or something! Thanks again.

Do you have Long Tube headers?? A lot of guys with LT headers seem to have the slow response problem. Myself included. I'm still on the original O2's though, with 87K on them.

What O2's did you have installed?? The stock ones?? Many guys switch to Bosch 13111 sensors, which are the rear sensors from the 97-04 Corvettes. They have extra long wiring harnesses, which eliminates the need for O2 extensions, and they are supposed to have better heaters in them than the standard F-Body O2's. Apparently it has solved the "slow response/insufficient switching" problem for a lot of people.

If you install them and the code returns, you can try taking them out and prying open the slots in the sensor with a small screwdriver to let more exhaust in for it to read.

I'll be investing in some 13111's as soon as I get my exhaust done, hopefully it will solve the slow response issue.

    The 13111's??

Pull them out and pry open the slots slightly with a small flat head screwdriver. That will allow more exhaust into the sensor.

Reset the code, and then see if it stays off.
