    Power Steering Pump Dying

Should I try a rebuild heard about someone doing it, I do OK with mechanics and have a couple friends i can talk to

Buy one from advance auto $65.00

Buy one of the Turn one kids $265 ish. high performance read a great review on GM highperformance parts... .just seems like a lot of money.

I have never driven my car over 90 yet.... had it a week and it's been in storage the whole week just drove it home... couldn't romp on things too much didn't want to get in trouble running on someone elses tags.

Thanks for the info! This place is a great resource.

Just remeber do it yourself first time I changed the power steering pump I cracked the pulley by putting it back on too far. I got frustrated towed it and put it in the shop I got hit for a big bill when the pulley was only around 35 bucks and I was told by one of the mechanics that it happens a lot to even them. So if that does happen just be more careful never let them do the easy things - or hard things. Do all you can by yourself least you know it was done right...I can swap them out in 20 minutes now.

I've had a Turn One on my car for the past 3 years, no complaints. It is probably overkill if you don't open track / autocross your car, however.

Thanks for the replys, What do you mean by overkill??

    So here is what's happening
    I went to www.turnone-steering.com
    Price $225 for the pump
$65.00 for a billet pulley Installed with holes init where the screws go so no removal nessicary.
$11/Quart for Joe Gibbs Racing fluid.

    Called Advance Auto Parts
    $65 for a pump
    No Pulley

    Called GM Dealer
$217.## for a pump... didn't ask about pulley)

so since the turn one is a NEW unit entirely i decided it would be fun to go with them, and then never have any worries racing through twisty mountain passes or if/when i go to a track i'm cool! Jeff was a really great and helpful guy too!

I was thinking in terms of price v. the refurbished unit. However, mine has survived 3 autocross seasons so far, where as my poor stocker failed after one season.
