Silver /Black- 69 Camaro
Power Steering Pully / Belt problem
I have a 2000 Trans Am LS1 in a 69 Camaro and I replaced the stock power steering pulley with a custom billet aluminum piece. I just had a problem where the serpentine belt rolled up on the inside edge of this pulley (tearing the belt). I was looking at the clearance between the inside edge of this pully to the face of the reservior and it measures 3/8" which seems wider then when I had the stock pully.
Would someone please measure the clearance on a similiar LS1 engine and let me know what the clearance is on the back side of this pully! It seems like the pulley has worked it's way outboard which is causing the belt to run off line. Thanks in advance for your feedback to my question!

i couldnt get a tape measure or ruler down near the power steering shaft to get an accurate measurement.
the back edge of the pulley is 7/32" from the front of the power steering res.
hope this helps
