    power antenna

is there a way to unplug a fuse that will disable the power antenna? its been really cold lately and i want to leave the antenna up so that it doesnt freeze and ruin the motor. i did this with the headlights and just unplugged the fuses so i was wondering if the antenna would be the same.

Not sure what fuse would kill just the antenna motor, but you could unplug it from the harness.

pretty sure you would kill the whole thing if you take the fuse out. If you are worried about ruining the motor due to cold ice etc... then your best best isnt to have the antenna up, it should be down. Less gaps etc...if your that worried about it getting messup up then just unplug it from its wire harness and let it be until it gets warm. You can still listen to cd's

If you take back the plastic trim in the passenger rear trunk compartment and take out the spare tire, jack, you can unplug the electical connector to the antenna and it will still pick up the signal as usual.

I put a switch inline at my dash so I can control the operation of my antenna.

oh ok thanks i may have to try that. i might not now that winter is more than half over since its more involved than just pulling a fuse but ill be doing that next year. i have the cassette player so i cant even listen to cds lol. i have the cd changer but it wont work. its coming up with code e-30 or something its an optical error.

aaah it takes about max 15 minutes. if your worried about it, i would do it. both antennas on my 98 and 00 dont work because of ice.

not sure if it will work, but just pull the harness when the antenna is up, that way it cant go back down.
