    Possible electrical problem?

Sometimes when i start my TA, the trip odometer resets. It doesnt always do this. Anyone know why? Also, when i start the car sometimes, all the needles, such as RPM, fuel and the speedometer all fly up and then come back down. could these things be related? What could be causing this?

'99 cars will sometimes do this when the battery voltage is low. Check the battery connections/have it load tested. If it's ok then it may need a new gauge cluster. Doesn't hurt anything, just annoying. Here's the GM TSB on it: 99-08-49-009 Trip Odometer Resets to Zero (Exchange/Install Instrument Cluster). TSB doesn't mention the gauge sweep, but usually happens at the same time. Hopefully it's just the battery.

I have a 99 and had the same problem and was getting worried... like the above post its either the battery or a loose terminal connection in the battery.. should solve the problem.
