are pontiacs more reliable than chevy's

i was wondering on some of your guys opinions if the trans am is more reliable then the camaro, or vice versa. i know pontiac is on the higher end of GM's products but do you think that means it's more reliable. i know ultimately a cars reliability lies in whether the owner takes care of it or not. any insight would be helpful. thanks

Last year in a consumer reports pontiac was one of GMs worst makes and chevy and cadillac were GMs best. I have had no problems with my 2000 camaro but my cousin has had lots of problems with his 97 T/A. But could just be the way you maintain it, drive it or whatever. Also the camaro and T/A were built in the same plant so i dont know why one would be better than the other

A Camaro and Firebird should really be the same in reliability. Can't count the Firebird hidden headlamps in any scoring because they all seem to break at some point. If Camaros had them, they would break too.

I wouldn't take stock in anything Consumer Reports says, good or bad (especially about cars).

Reliability is relative to how one owner's vehicle is used/abused/misused over another. It also depends on the perception one has regarding a standardization of the definition (of reliability).
