ok may be a dumb question but when i got the car had a full tank still havent had to fill up again could this be caused by crappy gas? i.e. arco or maby even the wrong octane like 87 or 89?

Are you stating that your gas gauge is not working correctly? If so, that is generally caused by sulfer deposits on the sender, although it could just be bad too. Easy fix is to use a bottle of Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner. Follow the instructions as you add the bottle to about 12 gallons of gas -- not a full tank.
