Paint/powder coated heads???
LS1 Buds,
I want to make everything black on my LS3 have any of u paint or powder coat your heads??? Any feedback appreciated thanks

Aluminum disperses heat, plus they look good raw. Don't paint or powdercoat them.

^This. That is what I said about the block he has but he did it anyways. Heatsoak FTW right? My point is it is your car and do what you want OP but I wouldn't paint or powdercoat the heads, it prevents its inherent ability to shed heat. Personally, I would rather keep everything as cool as possible.

If you are trying to dress it up you could try polishing the aluminum pieces up.

Well i fell in love with an all black LSX even the headers were black the only polish items were the stainless steel bolts on the pulley covers... I did a search in google and found a website www.nelsonracingengines.com and they have multiply engines all black!

<<Not trying to sound rude, you can do what you want it's your car, we are just telling you that you're going to have some heat soak issues if you do that. Most of those engines are show cars that get trailer around and drive very little.

Ya thats true about trailer queen part... I guess i will just get them cleaned real good and i will order the holley black valve covers...
