Overheating...sort of
I have a 99 T/A with about 80k miles. Recently it started running a little hotter than normal and when the cooling fans come on they don't go off. I took it to be looked at and they said they couldnt find anything wrong that would cause that to happen(coolant levels good and flowing properly). What could possibly cause this to happen. Its not overheating excessively, just running slightyly over the 210 mark on the temp gauge and the fans are tripping on and not going off.

look into your thermostat, and possibly replacing it. at 80k, i hope this is not the factory one still...

Yeah that's a little warm, even for Tampa this time of year. Only time my car ever did that was with the t-tops/AC off sitting at long lights in the middle of summer (before lowering fan temps) just after my FTRA install - but even with stock tuning temp gauge went back down soon as fans came on and got moving again. Did they pressure test the radiator cap? And welcome to the board...

i just bought the car a little over a year ago so i dont know if its the original thermostat. they said they checked the system over and everything seemed to be working. i tried flushing the system out and refilling but that didnt solve anything.
even in the summer the fans wouldnt come on unless normal driving and they would shut off once i got going and got air flowing. nothing seems to work.
i am wondering if maybe the water pump isnt functioning properly as i have notice a slight whine from the serpentine belt that gets louder with the rpms. possiblity?

When it starts to get really hot, turn the heater on full blast. That will help alleviate some of the heat until you can fix it properly.

last night it got real bad and was running between the 210 mark and the dash mark after that, and ever got up to the next mark before dropping back down a bit. Is the t-stat sticking and opening late or what?

Sounds like the t-stat is sticking, time to replace.
