    overheating

my car has been over heating recently and i do not know why

i can drive it on the highway and it will stay at 210 the whole time but as soon as i get to the city and stop it rises to 3/4.

i have checked the air damp to see if there is a bag or something blocking the radiator and no

coolant level is fine i do not see any leaks

what i think the problem is, is a sticking stat or not enough flow due to gunk, sludge or what ever its called i will be flushing the system when my parts come in

i have ordered a 160*stat and slp fan control switch

i will try to remember to listen for fans next time

has anyone had this problem and what can i do

sounds like your fans aren't running. Check the relay.

Sounds like what you said already maybe, thermostat is sticking.

Did you check the fans with the AC on, or did you wait to see if the fans came on on their own when the temperature gage hit the correct temp?

Could also be poor airflow through the radiator because it is dirty. Some other areas to check...a collapsed lower radiator hose or even a defective radiator cap.
