Ok guys sry to bring up the oil questions again but i have2

so i originally bought my 98 formula with 40,000 miles on it and the guy said hes always ran 10w40 penzoil in it cause it was only driven in the summer never in wither, and since ive gotten it nothing has changed oil or season the car now has 44,000 miles and only gets driven in summer time NEVER in winter should i continue to use 10w40 or ????? is it bad to use that? what should i be using ive heard mixed things.

I personally wouldn't use 10w40, in my opinon you are better off using 5w30. I would use 5w30 synthetic.
