Oil Pressure Problems. Need Ideas...
My harmonic balancer came out slightly and I lost complete oil pressure in the car and drove it home anyway because I was close and not being wise. I installed a new SLP Harmonic Balancer and new Front Main Seal. The engine sounds good and I know there is nothing wrong with it but my Oil Pressure is only running at 25 after warm up when it used to operate between 40. When I jump on it the Oil Pressure Dips slightly and I dont get much acceleration as it sounds like it whines and doesnt go at the higher RPM. Car is still fast but something is definitely wrong. When I used to jump on it the oil pressure would go from 40-60 like it should. There is definitely a bad seal somewhere. Im guessing (without any knowledge of engines) that I have to strip the car down to the heads and replace all the seals there from the 16 valves to make it perfect again but really am not too sure. Does anyone have ideas? Remember everything was good before this but when it ran on 0 pressure for a few minutes there is definitely a consequence to that and I know the engine is good as well as the New Harmonic Balancer installation.

Wow! Uh, you might have scored/burned your main bearings, causing less oil pressure. That is bad news...

Would the Engine have to be pulled out for that?

You probably smoked your bearings. Yes you need to overhaul your motor.
This is my signature. It is mine. Nobody else has one like it.
