    Oil pressure

My oil pressure drops way down every once in awhile. It has happened a couple times after I have ran the car hard. Anyone have any ideas?

Could be a sign or your bearings going out. Could be the oil pump. Could be alot of things. Have you gotten your car running tip top shape with a full tune up since your last threads.

I believe that I've got it running good. It took two new catylitic converters, new plugs (I still need to change the wires yet) and cleaning the MAF

Oil pressure changes as it varies through the temps....utilizing various oil brands/viscosities/filters will also deliver varying oil pressure....many non engine mechanical related influences. Give us the details and oil pressures we are talking about here.

I'm not really sure about the brand of oil and viscosity or the filter. I've only had the car for 3 weeks now. I just dumped some Cfoam into it and want to run a few miles before I change the oil. The oil pressure has dropped into the red on several occasions now

How much oil does it use in a oil change interval?

I'd drain that oil and change filters......put in Castrol GTX 10-30 and a AC Delco filter.....let's see what happens....no telling what kind of oil or filter is on there.....

I agree. Start with a base to work from. Then eliminate from there. Could be many things, and not knowing what your working with for oil makes it that much harder. What I stated earlier would be worst case scenrio (spell?)

wasn't there a service bulletin that had to do with an o ring in the pump that would go and airate the oil and give weird pressure readings

changed the oil today and had the engine flushed. Also dropped in some slick 50. The oil pressure hasn't dropped yet.

VII thickener with no lubricating qualities. You may as well be running a 50 weight. Snake oil deluxe.
