oil
I see a lot of talk about synthetic oil. I've always used Quakerstate 10w30 in everything I've owned. I use this in my Z/28 at well. What are the advantages of synthetic over regular oil?

With today's SM rated conventionals about the only advantage a GRPIII Synthetic will have is under -0f starts and extended drains. As long as you are adhering to reasonable OCI's (Oil Change Intervals) of 3K-5K and using a good quality filter like NAPA/WIX/Hastings....keep your air filter clean and your intake tight and sealed your good to go.
Now if your heavily modified N/A or running a Blower/Turbo/Nitrous I highly recommend a synthetic to handle fuel dilution/stress(HT/HS)
