OEM cats
Is there a way to replace the stock cats with direct fits? i don't want to install headers but im wondering when they get clogged what are my options. will an exhaust shop be able to weld universal ones to it?
If it comes to worse then I will get headers with cats but im trying to stay away from that. Thanks.

i kinda search and they sell direct fit but have to be special order. They are magaflow. they are around $350 for each side. i see why people go with headers is way cheaper plus the power gain.

when I bought my car it did not have no cats. and failed e-check here. found a muffler shop and they were able to weld in bullet style cats in to the ory. in only cost 320.00 for everything then passed e-check with no problems. its not as loud now. I have a magnaflow cat back.

I went through the same thing over the winter. Passenger side cat was clogging. All the shops around here want to replace both. Cheapest price was 650 installed.
I went with a set of BBK chrome headers instead. 370+tax from summit. includes the y-pipe and gaskets. I'm seperated the wiring harness so I could reroute it without splicing or buying extensions. It runs a little rich without the tune being updated, but it solved the cat problem cheap.

I think thats the regular price. I looked today and its still the same.
They went in easy enough. No issues with rubbing or rattling. Only problem I had was I needed another clamp. Home depot pumbing section solved that.

Not to hijack the thread, but how many miles are the stock cats usually good for?
