o2 delete question
Going to be installing ps lt headers, tsp ypipe and exhaust system for next spring. As of now the car has no cats, and Iam assuming the previous owner has pulled the bulb from the ses light. Wanting to do the egr delete and o2 delete as well. Just a bit confused with the o2's, can i get rid of all 4 of them or just the 2 after the cats? I will be getting a mail order tune after install. Thanks in advance

i can turn the ignition on without starting it, and nothin... and have never seen it on, i can see where it should be tho. Iam assuming the previous owner yanked the bulb when he removed the cats?

You can delete all 4 if you go with a speed density tune. At that point you don't need your 4 O2's or MAF. It is common to just delete the rear O2's

And yes the bulb is dead. You're supposed to get a 30 second bulb check

good info! and what exactly is a speed density tune?

A speed density tune is basically a locked in A/F ratio to the PCM where the PCM calculates fuel and spark based on vacuum. So basically you now utilize the map sensor not the MAF. So instead of reading and reporting to the PCM Mass Air, you get vacuum. More reliable, less shit to break, and no more MAF issues. Only down side is every mod you do, you need a retune. So be sure you do this after a big set of mods. A lot of cars today use Speed Density. Chryler Corp is the biggest. Our cars come with both Map and MAF. The map in the current setup is only for EGR purposes and MAF is the main calculation factor. Speed density, no more MAF, all calculations done my MAP and other sensors

NP Yeah it's pretty crazy stuff. Leave it for the tuners trust me on this. It gets nasty trying to understand how the system works

to sum it all up, i can tune out and remove the egr and rear o2's. Any other issues or concerns with this setup? Is there such a thing as a cat delete as well?

Yes, you can delete your EGR, AIR, CAT, O2's MAF, you name it. My setup right now is a speed density tune. No Cats. No O2's, No MAF, AIR or EGR and I have a 98

I've been running that way for about 10 years now so guys know how to do it. Just finding the right tuner to perform it. Ask guys from your area and find a respectable tuner. I wouldn't do speed density though until you have a good H/C in the car. Standard tuning, they can delete your rear O2's, AIR, and EGR
