    non-LS1 question....97 Sonoma ABS

Anyone ever bled the ABS system on an older sonoma with a tech 2? What I've gathered is that the tech 2 just cycles the valves releasing the air and that the ABS does the same thing on start up as a test. So I'm wondering if I can just bleed the brakes a time or two to get that air out of the ABS block?

Was the master off the truck or run dry?

I have read that people have just bled them on other cars without the tech 2. I just read my camaro manual and it says there are bleed screws on the modulator. Does the sonoma have them?

not really...it has a couple of valves that I'm not familiar with. Supposedly when they use the tech 2 to bleed them they're just cycling the valves in the abs block to release the air. I've read that the valves cycle on start up which is doing basically the same thing. I need to figure out how/what those valves are because my manual says something about bleeding them via those valves but it takes a special tool evidently to depress the valves.

You probably need the tool then. That way you can cycle each valve for each individual wheel.
