    Question No reverse lights?

So I was replacing my right rear turn signal light on the tail lights last night and while I was at I decided to check the other ones. Anyways I noticed my reverse lights don't come on when put into reverse?? That's kinda scary to think i've been driving for who knows how long without them working. The bulbs aren't blown so what could it be? I'm guessing it's whatever is at the shifter that indicates to illuminate the reverse lights but I don't know where that is or anything else it could be so tell me what to look for. Thank you for reading.

Probably just the reverse switch. Its pretty common for them to break.

You have to get under the car, its kind of on the side of the transmission (Driver Side I believe) with a clip going into it. I took mine out and measured the resistance when the switch is pushed and it was out. its a real quick fix if you have access to a lift.

Manual, and yes I had my friend put the key in the ignition, I even had him start the car and try while I watched and still no reverse lights.

i used to have a 1995 firebird. i had the same problem. it was the reverse light switch. located on side of tranny but i forget whether it was driver or passenger side(i had a 5-speed v-6). real quick fix, made easier if you have the option to throw it up on a hoist. just pick up the new switch, and look for the identical one on your tranny

Pretty cheap, $9 at Autozone but they have to overnight it from another store so i'm going to go pick it up tomorrow. Do I have to splice any wires or does the old one just unclip and just snap the new one in? No hoist so jacking it up is the option...
