No Oil Pressure
Hello. I have been reading a lot about no oil pressure on LS1's, But cannot seem to find the answer that I am looking for. I have a 1998 corvette and put in a new oil pump, cam and had my heads ported and polished. I primed the pump through the oil galley plug but the oil pan was empty so I'm not sure if that is why I have no oil pressure, or if that is why the pump didn't prime. I filled the oil filter with oil and turned the car over with the valve covers off and there is oil coming out of the lifters but no oil pressure, I even replaced the the OPSU twice but no luck. I did start the car to see if I would get oil pressure and still no oil pressure. I know I put the O ring in right. I am stumped. I ordered a mechanical gage that I will put on the OIL galley plug and see if I gets oil pressure. If any one has any Idea's that would be great.
Thanks

Joe, I move this to the proper area so that it will be viewed more.
You have put oil in it before the start up right?
Have you checked the connector to make sure no breaks in the wire?
A mechanical gauge would be the best bet to see if oil pressure is there.
If still no OP then it's possible the o ring got torn.

Thanks. I am new to the site and Had no idea where to post it. I did have oil in it before start up, But I had no oil in the pan when I primed the pump through the galley plug as shown on the Millings wed site, I think that because it sat for 2 weeks before I finished the install and the oil just ran out of the pump, not sure. I checked all the wires and they look fine. If the O ring was torn would I still get oil to the heads? The mechanical gauge will be here tomorrow, I sure hope I got oil pressure other wise I have to take it all apart again.
Thanks
