New post . power steering pump removal.

I am new here. I own a 1999 Z28 Ls1 with 6 speed. It has over 150,000 miles and still going strong. I need to replace the power steering pump and was not sure if this is an easy job, Can someone tell me if the power steering pump is removed easily by removing the pulley to get to the bolts or are the bolts hard to get to. Also is is hard to bleed.

Not hard to do, go to autozone and rent their pulley puller, works like a champ, pulling and installing, then unbolt it all and replace. as far as bleeding it is simple to do, you just fill the reservoir and turn the wheel side to side until it is quiet and the fluid level remains the same. Not a hard job to do at all.

Thanks for the info. Have an appoint at a garage to have it replaced. Total cost labor /parts includes pump and reservoir with new fluid and tax $322.68.
