New member simple questions 01 ws6

I just got an 01 ws6 auto with only 71k miles. I have had a lot of muscle cars (2 442s, a 69 Hurst olds, 65 gto, and a 79 T/A) but haven't had a 'modern' muscle car. I have installed the kn filter and have exhaust cutouts, is there any other simple tricks I should do? don't want to go into the engine. I know about the slight tick at start up, and other little quirks. Any advice would be appreciated.

Your inquiry is vague...What I mean is, what are you looking to get out of the car? What's your goal? There's quite a bit in terms of bolt-ons you can do, while staying away from tearing into the engine.

Can you be more specific?

Our engines are noisy upon startup - often described as sounding like a sewing machine with the addition of a little piston slap. The latter is possibly the sound that you are referring to and should go away as the engine warms up. No harm, no foul, just the result of a short skirt piston and material expansion rates. Other possibilities for a "tick" are a lifter that has bled down, an exhaust leak, or worst case scenario - a bent push rod.

There are lots and lots of simple things you can do to your car - throttle body coolant bypass, throttle stop, smooth bellows, secondary air removal, etc... We have a ton of write ups with details and pics in our stickies posted at the top of each topic area of our forum. Just ask though if you need pointed to anything specific.
