new to the ls1! need help
iv always worked on older carburated pontiac engines so i dont know much about the ls1, but i recently bought a 99 trans am, and the first week i owned it a rod bearing spun. so were pulling out the motor, wre gunna have the short block redone, consideing a stroker kit, and im sending my heads to lloyd elliot to have the stage three job done, and get his cam and valves. i already know i should probably get ls7 springs and lifters. i still have a couple questions though. i also want to upgrade my intake and am considering the bbk and having lloyd port it also. is the bbk intake a good intake? also im on sort of a budget so im thinking a truck MAF sensor. would a new trottle body be nessesary? and also injctors, i doubt ill make more that 450 hors so will i need new injectors, pump, rails ext? any help would be greatly appriciated

stock maf is really good. I'd stick with it unless you plan on going north of 500 HP.
When it comes to intakes:
LS1 > LS6/BBK > Fast 90 > Fast 102
LS6 is very affordable and will give you very good results. For the HP range a LS6 is good. FAST will always be considered to be better.
With a LS6 you can keep your fuel rails, you may need to increase your injectors and upgrade fuel pump base on the build.
You can get a used LS6 intake for about $300-$400. BBK is about $500-$600. If I was going to upgrade, I'd skip the BBK and go for the FAST.
FAST 90's are no longer sold, but you can get them used. Used prices vary.
FAST 102 is what they are only selling form the company. It goes for about $1000, it does require tuning, fuel rails, injectors and fuel pump upgrades. Those can add about another $1000 on top of the intake
