Needing some input
Ok, I'm taking this out of the AAG thread and making a poll to help make up my mind. Want to do this in the next day or so, deffintly order by this weekend before the wife knows I got this $$ and she changes my mind.
I'm currently using and looking for UMI products only
Option # 1
Sway Bars 35mm Front & 22mm Rear Combo
Pan Hard Bar with Poly Bushing and Roto Joint Adjustment
Lower Control Arms Double Adjustable
Option # 2
Tunnel Mounted Torque Arm with Driver's Safety Loop for Pacesetter LT Headers
Pan Hard Bar with Poly Bushing and Roto Joint Adjustment
Lower Control Arms Double Adjustable
Option # 3
Line Lock
QTO E-Cut Out Single
Pan Hard Bar with Poly Bushing and Roto Joint Adjustment
Lower Control Arms Double Adjustable
Option # 4
Used 243 Cylinder Heads
Option # 5
VFN WSQ Hood
Option 1 & 2 are very close in dollar amount, Option 3 & 4 are slightly less, Option 5 is the most expensive.
And to be upfront & honest I have a huge hard on for the hood, the heads will sit for a while till I get the other goodies needed to go along with a H/C swap. The other options are more practical and are much needed.
Current mods in signature.Last edited by SMWS6TA; 08-30-2011 at 12:59 PM.

Custom Swirly Black- 2001 WS6 M6
My order: 3 and 2 are close for me with 3 taking it (has some good functionality and some fun you'll really notice, meaning the cut out). 1 is in the distance, just b/c, IMO the sway's aren't as beneficial as the tunnel, but that can be dependent on your goals.
Didn't list 5 b/c it's so much more cosmetic than functional.
< functional person, sorry, lol.

Option 1 first, stiffen up the under carrage (add sub frame connectors and U brace to your list), and manage the power you have already to the rear wheels. Your Option 1 plus what I added will eliminate the body flex, and put more of the horsepower to the rear wheels.
All the horsepower in the world is not worth anything if you are sitting there spinning the tires and wheel hopping.

But that hood would sure look good...Which options would still be available around tax season, which would be a one time deal? Timing and availability led me to get my hood, then upgrade my suspension.

I chose option 2, with the drop the torque arm seems the most beneficial

There's that old saying "clothes make the man." most wars were not won by power, but by intimidation, deception. Even stock, your ride will eat a new stock SS for desert. How odten do you actually race someone with the balls to get beside you? Will fancy parts underneath win you money or props? Will stiffer bushings agree with your daily route? Mine didn't, but that hood showed an extra 15 on the dyno, turns heads, and makes the enemy second-guesse themselves.

Steve, SFC's were the first Item I ever put on the car. Even prior to headers & lid.

UPDATE 2
Thx for all input. After talking with UMI (Jerry) this is what I decided to get based on my setup, future plans and unexpected clearance problems that my ORY is/has caused *.
Full Length TA Adjustable Part # 2207
TA Relocation Bracket Part # 2205
LCA On Car Adjustable w/Roto Joint Part # 2039
PHB On Car Adjustable w/Roto joint Part # 2037
TA Hardware Kit
Spanner Wrench
* - My damn ORY sits way too low for it to clear the tunnel mount brace with DSL setup. I would have to either replace with a custom ORY or deal with road scraping every trip. The relocation kit does what I want and takes it off the tranny cone. Funny thing is that I've tweak and formed and welded to get the clearance I got.
Now the hard part........I just have to be patient and wait for the It's going to be a long damn weekend.
I'll try to take as many picks as I can and submit for a sticky.

I've decided that when Income tax refund comes I might be able to talk the wife into letting me get the hood then.
I know next order will be sway bars and I should be just right with the rear suspension.

OK, you're starting to scare me....
your name, taste in car, year, color and mods is outstanding
I vote #2 also, but personally if I did it again I'd go with the full length TA and TA relocation bracket, My POS ORY hits the side of the DSL on my tunnel mount and even if I have it reworked I still lost 1.5-2" with my notched tunnel mount brace, I'm not lowered and I regret it going over speed bumps.Last edited by TransAmX2; 09-06-2011 at 08:17 AM.

Do you have money set aside for a stronger rear? I didn't see an upgraded rear in your sig.

Eustis, FL (about 45min NW of Orlando)
ya, it's been an upgrade whatever breaks/ wears out next system
yes, I feel the same way sometimes, it's the rearend upgrade that scares me $3-4k is a hard pill to swallow for a 13 year old car with 130k on it, I love the car, but I've been considering a C6 corvette upgrade but that's an entirely different upgrade, lol
yup, I was the same way, One suggestion on the TA (if the mount at the rearend is the same as mine, and I assume it is) you will either want to trim the top front of the mount or have to clearance the tunnel over the rearend (BFH), mine and a few others would hit the tunnel before the bump stops going over bumps and drove me crazy for a little bit trying to figure out where the noise was coming from. Good luck, hope you enjoy the results.
