You should sell the v6 car and use the money you would need for a motor, trany., raditor, rear end, front springs, exhaust system, and all the other BS you have to change to make it right, and buy a Ls1 or Lt1 car already done and spend money making that car better or just enjoy it stock you will be better off, richer, and happier. this is only my opinion as I went through this process some years ago with a mustang after all the work and money spent it would not hold a candle to my stock 99 T-A.....

My thoughts exactly its to much money and headache doing the conversion, by the time your done you will have more money and time in that v6 car then just going out and buying a v8 car

Yep, the V8 conversion generally doesn't make sense unless you already have a donor car. Trying to piece together a LT1 or LS1 conversion is gonna cost you too much

Turbocharge the V6...there's a guy in my car club running low 12s with a cheap home-made kit on his 99 V6 Camaro. I guarantee he spent less than $2000 on everything.

3.8L, and no, stock motor pushing 18psi, though I think he does have a cam.

Also, the early 4th gen V6s were the 3.4L.

If you go boost, you will have a rare car. That car will be a homage to the 89 Turbo Trans Am GTA. Had the GNX 3.8 that hauled ass.

3.8L with a T61 is a glorious combo. You could probably go with a T70, but you will some undesirable turbo lag.

Use the correct PCM with the motor you will be using. This way, getting that car fired will be easier.

3.4s are OBDI and 3.8s are OBDII, right?

If that's the case, you HAVE to get a new PCM, if you can call a OBDI controller a "PCM"
