Need some advice!!!
Hey guys new to the forum... Had a question I have a 99 firebird formula all essential suspension mods, intake, cam, full exhaust, trans, rear end... Too much to be specific... Had some major life changes over the years that caused the car to sit for a few yrs... I know I tear up thinking bout the neglect sometimes! But atleast I still have her!!! Either way questions regarding getting her going again, gonna be picking up the battery shortly, other then draining the oil and maybe gas depending how much is in there anything else u see I should do before firing her up?,she's got 70 k on her and ran great before she sat? Any advice would be great please...

I'd give it a day of normal driving before beating on it, lol. Make sure your coolant is good, I'm guessing in Chicago you didn't negect coolant.

Yep, I would siphon as much out of the tank as you can. And put a new fuel filter on it.

Custom Swirly Black- 2001 WS6 M6
Put heet in the tank and you should be fine.
I def would swap all other fluids, especially the coolant.

All above are all part of what is needed to bring it back, don't forget to check the rear end for fluid too.
here some other things to look out for:
1) look over the engine bay for critters. Look around the the corners like where the pcm and the break booster are. Damn mice love to make nest in tight areas and love to crew wires too.
2) Look over all rubber hoses. Dry rot and again mice can makes hoses go bad quick.
3) Get ready for leaks. I mean all gaskets. If it's been a long while the seals can dry out and over time blow out when fluids and pressure start building.
4) Don't run it too hard first time out. Yes run it, but be able to get back to the house and look over top to bottom for any leaks.
5) There are other fluids besides the oil and coolant. Break fluid and tranny need looking at too.
