Need Mod Advice/Suggestions
I reached 377 RWHP and want to break the 400 mark. Current mods are:
1999 Trans Am WS6 (m6)
LS6 Heads/Cam/Intake
Pacesetter Headers
SLP lid K&N Air Filter
P&P TB
That's all I had to get 377 RWHP
I recently purchased a Borla Exhaust, subframe connectors, rear lower control arms and a tq arm.
any suggestions to make sure i break the 400mark..? (something not incredibly expensive lol)

trans am 00 ws6- 1998 camaro ss vert
a good cat back exhaust, and a fast 90/90 or 92/92mm intake and tb set up should get you there.

Arctic White & Black- '98 WS6 M6 - SWAPTIME!
have you considered bigger injectors and a tune?

If you DYNO'd on a Mustang DYNO and got 377rwhp, DYNO it this time on a DYNOJET
Seriously, you'll be close with adding an exhaust. You will now be planting more power to the ground with LCA and that TA you just purchased.
I would assume though you already have a tune being you have H/C, but if you haven't got it DYNO tuned, you could possibly pull out a few more ponies like above mentioned.

it was about 365RWHP with a mailorder tune from TSP, than dyno tune brought it to 377RWHP. And it was on DYNOJET
So, injectors so far..anything else? Would high-flow cats help? I dont want no cats, too loud :S lol

During the dyno tune did nt happen to know what the injector were maxing out at? 85% is about as high as you want to go, if your still below that I'd skip on the injectors.
By far the cheapest hp is n2o dry shot through the MAF.
Higher gears will make your dyno hp lower, but make you quicker.
When you did the cam, what valve springs did you go with? Comp 918s or better and if you can do the work yourself a bigger cam would put you right there.

SOM- 1998 T.A.
The right cam with those mods will get you there. Your cam must be pretty mild...... Something like a 228/228 or a tv2 (232/234/.595/.598) will get ytou there.

If you upgrade to a small/mild cam and install the borla you should be well over your mark. SOMbitch recommended a couple of good ones, or you could always go bigger but bigger is gonna cost you. Install the catback for now, try some free mods and hold off on getting another tune till you can throw in another cam(unless you absolutely need to know). Another possible option could be roller rocker arms, but some will argue that the gains are not worth the money. You should also consider a SSRA or FTRA kit if you don't have a WS6 hood+airbox. Well hope this helps, good luck with your goals and hopefully you get there with cash to spare.

Thanks man. my car is a WS6 i forget to mention that sometimes. Im hoping the Exhaust will put me pretty close to there anyway. I guess time will tell, time will tell
Thanks again guys, I had some cams recommended 230/230 and 232/232 from a guy over on LS1tech, I know which way im going with that when i get the money but I dont have the 1000 bucks right now to blow, have to save it home

heads , cam , lt , underdrive pully , cat back and a tune normally = around 405 to 435 hp .
how many miles on the block and how many miles on the combo ? might be loosing compression some were .Last edited by SPDYGON; 02-01-2010 at 03:38 PM. Reason: you have a cam

A local here made 392rwhp with a ls-6 cam only and headers etc. Granted he is employed by our local tuner that seems low. If you want cheap get a muffler slightly bigger than a bullet style and put it before the axle and dump it.
