My buddy told me.
All right everybody. I've got a question! I'm going to be ready to take the racecar for the tune pretty soon. I've just about finish the major work I was doing to this thing.
Ok, this is where my buddy comes in. He told me that I would need to have the old stock fuel injectors in the car when it gets tuned, because when you get a tune done, it just about wipes out thefuel injectors. Now I bought 42lb injectors, and have them in the car now.
Do you guys think I do need to take out the 42s and put the old stock ones back in for the tune?
Thank you!

Why would a tune wipe out fuel injectors? I'd leave them in.

It doesn't make sense to me either. Besides, I would think that the tuner would need the car to be set up the way I would be driving.

Well, what I'm trying to say is, wouldn't the results of the tune with the 42's be different from the results of a tune with the stock injectors?

You are correct. The stock injectors may not be adequate enough. They may reach maximum duty cycle and limit your hp. Just leave the 42's in it for the tune. Your buddy doesn't know what he's talking about. Your injectors will be fine.

You should never take your buddy's advice about cars ever again...EVER.
Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

Yep. That doesn't make sense to me.
I am going to call the guys that do the tunes down here in Houston. Just to make sure.
Thanks guys.

One of the reasons you get a tune is because of the larger injectors you use.
I run 60lbs in mine. And yes, I tuned it with them in.Black 1999 Blown Convertible A4

yeah....put your buddy on the "never listen too about a car stuff again" list because he obviously has zero idea what he's talking about. You HAVE to have your 42 lbers in there when you tune. One of the things your tuner will do is set up your injector tables for the larger injectors. Never listen to that guy again.
