    1998 Camaro SS

    msd wires touching headers...

    im finishing up h/c/i install and puttin on msd 8.5mm wires but one of the wires is against the header on the drivers side. they are pacesetter longtubes. what can i do about this? im pretty sure its NOT ok to leave it on the header.

    you can bend the boot some to not touch the headers on MSD wires.

    Get some plug wire boots and do not bend the MSD's to far or they will break.

    See if any of our sponsors have heat sheilds. I put some on that look like this

    So far, no heat issues what so ever.

    As the above poster noted, wrap the wires with heat resistant material, also reuse the stock metal boot jacket for extra protection.

    Try bending the wire away from the header, i would also pick up some heat shields, i found some at chinzazone from accell that work pretty good.
