Motor mount question
Hey guys, first off this is my first post on this forum, but i have been a member since i bought my camaro and have got a TON of really good info from this site for my header install and just deciding what direction i want to go with modifications.
after i got my long tube headers installed i noticed a loud vibration under the car, turns out it is my Y pipe hitting the bottom of the car when i shift into reverse mostly. so i'm assuming it is my motor mounts and or trans mount.
so here is my question do these motor mounts replace the complete stock ones and just bolt directly to the motor? Sponh Tubular lsz solid motor mounts.
would you recommend these over just replacing the stock mounts with prothane mounts? will the spohn mounts cause a lot of vibration?
thanks for any inputLast edited by Spaz; 04-23-2012 at 05:31 AM.

A lot of exhaust pieces will bang against the floor, it is just so tight down there. You will most likely have to bend the y a little to get it to stop rubbing. I had to do that with my slp catback even before I did headers. I am sure the motor mounts would help, but more than likely not needed. Try bending first. New motor mounts are never a bad idea, but again, prob not needed for this little bit of rubbing.

I presume it is hitting on the driver side floor brace. I had to spend some time tweaking mine in that area. I personally would not run solid mounts on a street car.
