more power for a 5.3
i need more power for my 5.3 silverado. it's a 2000. i already have the volant intake, and flowmaster exhaust. i don't want to waste money on a MAF or TB spacer. what is something that will be useful and noticeable on a budget.
also - my truck is equipped with the secondary air pump to the left of the motor. can i remove this if so how. and if i do is there any benefit other than more appeal when i look under the hood and don't have to see the bundle of crap over there.

there's alot you can do. how far do you want to go into the motor?
Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers

well... for now no further inside the motor than a cam and maybe rockers... bolt -ons are open game. i really would like some info on interchangeable parts from the LS1's and 6's. i plan on taking a cam from the LS6 for as i've been told that with the mods i have done now it'll gain 50 rwhp. minus the fact that i still need the pcm tuned... plus i really want to get my hands on some electric fans. i'm also up to ideas as i'm sure there are plenty of things i'm not thinking of.
-- anyone know how the "corvette" servo in my 4L60E will benefit my truck?

You'll see a good gain but I doubt you'll see 50rwhp gain with a ls6 cam....since you're going to do a cam swap might as well make it count and get a custom cam.
Here's the specs on the ls6 cam...
2001 LS6 cam
207/217 int/exh @ 0.05" duration
0.525" / 0.525" int/exh lift
116 LSA
2002+ LS6 cam
204/218 int/exh @ 0.05" duration
0.551" / 0.547" int/exh lift
117 LSA
Also you'll see better gains if you ditch the chambered flowmaster and get a straight-through muffler like magnaflow. Like the other said, a tune will really help also.
