Misfire problems
O.K heres what happened...I have a small 3.8 which out of now where decided to run like crap after a cold snap. Check engine light is on and I had it read. It shows a camshaft postion sensor problem and a misfire on #3. I am changing plugs and wires since it probly needs it at 51k. I am keeping in mind that it may also need a coil pack as well. Should I change the sensor as well? And if I do where is it located? Not only that but where is best place to get one and what brand do you recommend? Hopefully the new plugs will work and I don't need a top end. I would love to change it to an LS1 or a BBL but funds are SLLLLLLLiMMMMM. Thanks for any info you can give me.

Black on Black- 2001 Camaro SS
The 3.8 powered Camaro's were notourious for burning plug wires causing the engine to missfire. I am pretty sure its going to be the plug wire that is fryed and needs to be replaced.

Yea, don't bother with the cam sensor until you've done the plugs/wires/coil, once the misfire is gone reset the codes then see if the cam code returns - probably won't.
