Question minor scratches? new clear coat??

Ive got an 02 trans am. I have alot of small swirl scratches from washing, and i was wondering. Cant you just put on a clear coat for like a few hundred and have a brand new looking car?? If anyone really knows the answer i would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks, Tony

clay bar it, or go over it with some rubbing compound/buffer.... then re wax it.. your paint will look like glass.

Yepp, set aside a day and clay bar, some prep wax then a good sealer and some wax should do the trick. Alot of people use Zaino and they love there products, check out our sponsers section and zaino should be on there.

Clay bar is used by all of the pros. Clay Magic is the brand I use. About $11 at Auto Zone. All the clay does is clean the clear coat and take most of the wax off. The next step is to use a real fine rubbing compound. Several brands are available. This is the step that will take the scratches out. A coat of wax will then protect the finish.

    Hope that helps.
