car will start a few times with no prb and out of nowhere it wont its just random and when it starts it does it just as it should but when it dosnt start you turn the key on the accesories and everything works fine try to start and it seems as if the sylinoid is out it does absolutely nothing and 2 seconds later starts fine what the hell???!!!!!

So when the car doesn't start, are you getting the whirring noise from the bendix. Like the starter is spinning but no fire?

Either the starter drive kick out arm is bent or the copper contact plate is warped inside the soleniod and making intermittent contact could even be a field issue in the solenoid windings. If the magnetic field is weakened the solenoid may not have the strength to overcome the return spring.. I'd replace the soleniod cheap easy and if your wrong no harm done just kinda like a mini tune up of your old starter..

Starter only gets energized when the solenoid completes the connection this happens immediately after the drive is engaged with the flywheel. Same deal... If the contact plate is warped or even corroded it won't spin the starter. But occasionally it will make contact and work after a few key attempts are made. The copper contact plate is located inside the cap of most solenoids and is'nt outwardly visible..

thanx guys the plate nside the solinoide has a wire that runs thru it and the wire was broken threw a new starter on and im on the road
