match engine to VIN ? Does engine have serial #?
Hi everyone, thanks for taking to time to help me out.
I've purchased an LS1 out of a 2002 SS for use in my 55 chevy stepside project.
Thing is, i'm not sure the guy who sold it to me was truthful, and while he did give me a VIN that checks out for mileage, damage, etc., I'd like to verify that the engine i get is actually from that car.
Is there a way to match any identifiers on the engine to the VIN number?
Any help?
