Came across 95 Trans Am already stroked(free).The kid that had the car did the work himself,never tuned .He got rid all emissions and trying to find out what for parts is were installled is like pulling teethI'm doing this on th fly. Things I know: needs cats converter,o2sensors,Engine rebuild(rings) Don't know injector size(over loading) what parts are needed for emissions.never pass emission.Trying to get it back two being legal.The car sat for a 4 year and we just got it running,it has the power. Its got power but the over loading (back firing) and spitting out blue smoking.Any Ideas out thet would be greatly appreciated.

The blue smoke could be rotted valve seals.... if it sat for that long....

also the oil could have been thinned out. your looking at a total engine rebuild to be on the safe side.

parts shouldn't be to much of a problem.

If your not dead set on resurrecting that stroke LT1 a LS1 conversion might be just as much

Theres no telling what the previous owner has done and since it sat for so long it would make we wonder. I would check the items mentioned above and also do a compression test and or a leak down test, then i would pull the valve covers to see what rockers he has on there and what the clearence is set at. Although a rebuild might be the best bet, i would be curious to know what the deal is.
