    LS6 Intake on a 98 TA

Im thinking about buying a LS6 intake for my stock 98 Trans Am. My question is what modifications do I have to do to the intake to make it work on my car. If any?? I had a friend show me his car (02 TA 6 spd) which has the LS6 intake and I noticed the EGR is alittle different than the LS1 intake. Do I have to get an EGR tube for the LS6 intake?

SLP makes an LS6 intake with the EGR hole in it. If you go another route you'll have to ditch the EGR. The coolant pipes will be different and you'll have to buy the crossover pipe and rear block offs. Some people whittle on the bottom of the LS6 intake so the stock pipes will work but I wouldn't recommend it. The crossover and block offs aren't that expensive.

Also if you decide to get the modded slp ls6 it comes with the two pipes and block-offs.

    For how much?

I am going to sell my Weiand intake and I had to mess with the same coolant pipe shit. I tried to 'modify' the stock ones, but said screw this and bought the block offs and new pipe.

The only thing I fear of doing the intake swap again, is breaking the sensor on the back. Shit, actually I broke the..oil sensor(?), it sticks out of the block, not the intake...AND the ...map sensor(?) on the back of the intake (the sensor you switch out) I broke both fucking things and never once did I think I was being rough with the uninstall.

if he has an 02, then he has no EGR. to make hte intake work, all you do is bolt it on, remove your EGR and block off the hole on the exhaust manifolds. if you want to keep the EGR, then get the one that SLP offers that keeps the EGR.

also, you can get the coolant tube and rear block offs for LS6. or just use the one you have and see where it rubs the intake and clearance it.
