ls3 swap in 02 trans am no power on bank 2

I swaped a ls3 into a 02 trans am and the coils on bank 2(2,4,6,8 cylinder) has no fire. Bank 1 fires fine. I have the correct 1x cam sprocet and the 24x crank. What could be the reason for this? Thanks

Could be a number of things. Could be a loose harness that connects to the packs on the bank that is not firing, a pinched wire, a bad ground. Have you backtracked the wiring you connected?

Check and make sure the coil packs are plugged in firmly to the harness as well. It can look connected and not be, I had that happen last time I changed spark plugs, I removed the coils to get them out of the way, got in too big of a hurry putting it back together. Thought I had dropped something through the head, scared me lol. Definitely sounds electrical to me.

man it really just sounds like loose wiring somewhere to me....especially with the crazy dome light action....try running a direct ground to the chassis of the computer....i forgot a ground on the back of my engine when i did the swap and had to run a ground to the computer....now all is fine.

can never be too sure. it worked for me when i did my swap. not saying it will fix it but its worth a try. I ran a wire from one of the phillips head screws on the ecu to the fenderwell and my car started acting right.

The OP hasn't posted since September of 2012... not sure that he's still around to respond. That being said, I would be curious as to the cause of his issue - my guess would be a missing ground or a bent pin in a connector that wasn't making contact.

That's good - I was concerned that you were experiencing the same issue and was going to dig into the service manual if you were.

I remember, from my Pontiac dealer days, a few LS1 Fbody tow ins from time to time that had problems with mice finding injector and coil pack harnesses fairly tasty.

That happened to our Regal Turbo while in the hands of the prior owner -- I found the injector harness taped together.
