ls2 lifter trays?
i bought ls2 lifter trays and ls7 lifters. well the ls2 lifter trays are different than the ls1. they have a curve in the plastic. does that said go a certain direction or does it not matter? im about to put the heads on and i wanted to be sure before i do it

the holes in the lifter cant go towards the other side of the motor because when they sit in the trays it either points to the back of the block or front of block.

well I was going to mention that ,the ones in my ls2 do,other GM lifters have them in the sides, sorry forgot to cover mylol
heres a shot of my new shortblock see under the top of gasket there are places in the block where the trays go on the ls2 they can only go in one way,I beleive on earlier ls1s does not matter how you put trays in.

Yeah, it's also a good idea to drill 3/4 to 1/2 inch holes in the lifter trays to assist in oil flow/management. The holes in the trays face the direction of whichever side your on. Example: Driver side tray holes go in facing the driver's side tire. I have a 98 LS1 so the direction of the tray isn't in play. However whichever side you drill the holes on-that side better face the applicable direction (away from the engine/manifold) The "how to build LS1/LS6 V-8's" book by Handzel emphasizes this.....
