Black- 1969 GTO
LS1 or LS2 What's best for a 1969 GTO?
I am going to make the switch to a newer engine. Is this hard to do? What can I anticipate in spending for an engine and a recommended transmission? All help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Richard

Welcome to the site!
Swapping over to LS power has become much easier with all the aftermarket support these engines get. Things to consider include upgrades to the fuel system as you will need 58 psi. I believe Aeromotive makes a slick setup that will drop into a stock style tank after you cut a hole in the top. You should source the engine and transmission together with the PCM, unless you plan on utilizing an aftermarket controller. Gauge interface can also be an issue depending upon your plans. We have a "Classic Muscle" section on the forum - post up some pics once you pass the minimum membership requirements which I believe are 10 days and 10 posts.

Besides the engine and transmission there are the little things that will add up pretty quickly. Are you going with an auto or manual transmission? I also noticed you live in Cali. I believe for emissions you need all the emission equipment that was on the original engine.
