LS1 fuel pump
Anyone here successfully remove the plastic hoses from the pump to the top and the small one to the "jet?" Can they be reused?

The small one you can just cut it above the fitting, that's what my new fuel pump directions said to do and to use a razor blade to cut the other one off. I'm having trouble installing the new accordian clear hose on the housing assembly. Good Luck on yours

Here is where I am now. My fuel pump failure was the "flexible soda straw" hose. It split. Found out there is an SAE spec for in tank fuel line. SAE 30R10. NAPA has it in 5/16", part number H209, and in 3/8" H213. Here is the description from NAPA's info:
Attributes:
I.D.:.375" (9.52mm)
Features & Benefits:Exceeds SAE 30R10 Rating & is Capable of Handling Gas
Alcohol-Extended Gas or Diesel Fuel in Fully Immersed
Mobile
Stationary & Marine Applications. Aramid Fiber Reinforcement. Fluroelastomer Tubed
Working Pressure:100 psi
Measured the barb on the top plate and 5/16 is too small. Ordered 3/8, hope it fits

The 5/16 is what came with my new Walbro 255 fuel pump and it a bitch to get on. Let me know how it turns out. And thanks for the info. I might go to NAPA and get a new one.
Thanks Again,

Al,
Did you have any luck on your hose. I went to NAPA and they said the warehouse is out of stock. I need on and I called My GM dealer and they can't get the hose by itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Again,

John,
I also bought two FI hose clamps. I tried to get spring clamps, the ones made out of spring wire. They didn't have them. Later today I'm going to try the hose. As you know, the way the barbs are designed if you push the hose on, it's there forever.
One of my concerns is the stiffness of the new hose. It has to bend as the bottom of the pump moves in relation to the top. At $30 a foot it should bend
I'll let you know how it goes.
Al
