Blue- 02 Silverado
LS Heads (806)
Hey Guys (and gals)!
New here so bear with me in the event that I make mistakes.
I read where 806 Heads were manufactured till 98.
I have an 02 Silverado. 5.3 LM7
The block that I am rebuilding is 5.3 from an 04 Silverado.
Will these 98 806 heads fit my 04 5.3 block? If so can anyone tell me which head bolts to use because i'm finding mixed info concerning the Bolt lengths

Will they fit and work? Yes
Do you want to - not really.... 241 heads are better, 243/799 best when talking stock heads.
The 806 heads are literally 1st gen heads, have a perimeter bolt pattern for the valve cover. Which means you need that cover and IIRC the coil packs bolt directly on the cover vs a bracket that holds the packs together.
Flow is meh even when ported.
You should look for 317 or 243/799 heads with the emphasis on the later for NA builds, if going boost then the 853's.
You can get a pair of stock 243/799 heads for around $500.
243 and 799 heads are the same head, just some slight differences - valve stems (hallow vs solid) and where they were cast.http://www.ls1.com/forums/f7/my-6-liter-build-174257/
