    Low Profile Intermediate Shaft

    Does anyone make a low profile intermediate shaft to help clear headers. My headers clear the shaft until the engine is under power. The slight tilt of the engine makes the shaft scrape on the pipe, and it's a bit hard to steer obviously.

    hmm... i know when i ordered my new steering rack they sent me the wrong one and the angle was pointed in a way that it would rub against my headeres... have ou ever replaced the steering rack???

    Nope, everything is stock. It rubs up top right at the point where you bolt the shaft to the end of the steering column. I had to use a low profile bolt so it would spin freely. Now it only rubs under acceleration.

    stock motor mounts??? i'd check a local juk yard and see if you can get a steering rack out of a fbody with a different suspension set up... the pinion angles are different on

    Yes. I just saw saw the other thread recommending poly mounts. I assume the motor will still rock a little bit unless I go solid which I'd rather not do. The pipe is about 1/8 inch from the shaft at rest. Will the motor still rock that far with poly?

    Hmmm...looks like I'll be "adjusting" the pipe with me sledge hammer.
