Low Oil Light
Hey guys i need some help
my low oil dash light is lit up after my 01 ls1 heads/ cam swap into 2000ss. the oil on the dip stick is to be honest a little more than it should be bc i have been adding a little ever since my swap was done. less than 2hr of running on the engine after the install. I am thinking could it possible be something with the oil pressure not being built up in the engine to throw the light. the oil pressure gauge it seems at its working fine? Any opinions or help you guys can provide.

Have you checked the oil pressure sending unit at the back of the intake manifold to see if it's damaged or leaking? Have you noticed any oil leaks since the modifications? I believe you have another sensor in the oil pan that tells you when your oil level is low. Check that one too and get back to us as soon as you can.

The low oil sensor is on the side of the pan. It's not a pressure thing. Check the sensor and wires.
