i noticed this in my 2002 2500 6 liter...but ive determined it was the fuel that i put in...i ran 87 octane as opposed to the usual 93 octane and it lost power under light acceleration...i had to floor it to get it to respond better...no more 87 for me...

It may be the DOD(Displacement On Demand) kicking in. Shuts down 4 cylinders while city driving and activates them when under load/higher speeds. I cannot remember if the HD Vortecs have a specific octane rating though.

I believe they do. 4 cylinders shut down while city driving to save fuel. I think Chrysler has this with the Hemi V8s as well.
