Looking for stock Clutch options/opinions !!

Stone stock 01 z28. Interested in a Stock-like pedal effort/feel nothing aggressive. I have a street twin on my vette and i don't want to be breaking my driveline with that kind of clamping power. Mods in the future will be cam/rrs, longtubes and exhaust and thats probably it. So something that will hold up to 350-380 rwhp.

Went for a cruise yesterday with the vette club and it's engaging right at the very very top like right when theres no travel left to let go of the pedal. I have a feeling its an original clutch. 194k km on it.

The stock replacement is the z06 clutch (the ls1 clutch is superceded) or get the LS7 clutch (they are actually cheaper right now). Stock feel and engagement, good holding power etc.

How heavy is our stock flywheel? do we have any options there for steel/aluminum to shave some weight?

i have heard many good things about the ls7 clutch kit installed on the ls1 motors... 500hp capacity and oem clutch feel.(this is the setup i will be running as soon as i install the thing) just make sure to get the right hydrolics for the kit, or it wont work right. the 01-02 f-bodies have the updated hydrolics, but anything pre '01 will need the new slave cylinder.

if you would like to go with the ls7 setup, here's a link to all the parts you should need...

    http://www.sdparts.com/product/SDLS7...cFlywheel.aspx

you can also try fred beans parts, which has the kit for a few dollars cheaper but sdpc has everything right there in front of you, so i figure its pretty fool proof for those like myself who hope they have all the parts and end up having to wait as more parts come in because they didnt all get ordered the first time...

i would go with the clutch kit, TO bearing, slave cylinder and pilot bearing, as well as the install tool. the bolt kit is included with the clutch from sdpc
