    Longer pushrods???

Has anyone ran into the problem of pushrods being too short with Comp cams? 232/234 595/598 112 lsa
I'm finishing my 383 and when I was checking the PTV clearance, there was about .25 to .30 space between the rockers and the valve stems when the bolt bottomed out. I have TR 7.4s...I guess I need to go 7.425?????

best bet is to get a pushrod length checker and measure, rather than guess.

Got the checker...then I broke the checker. Another week down the drain

I unscrewed the checker about half-way, then it wouldn't screw back in all the way...must have been trash in the threads from manufacturing. So, what did I do...like a dumba--, I put vice grips on it and forced threads until I got the correct length, then once achieved, I was screwing it back in to see what my length would be since I forgot to get a baseline and it split the metal and broke the screw. I'm pretty peaved that the threads messed up in the first place and another $20 plus shipping, but not nearly as mad as having to wait another week!
I've been without my car since September and it's just 1 problem after another with getting parts or running into unexpected problems, such as longer pushrods, shorter head bolts, etc, etc, etc..

If anyone lives in the Dallas or Rockwall area in Texas and has one of these checkers, I'll gladly buy it off of you...or rent it, whichever you prefer.
